Job Description

Aramark is hiring an HVAC Technician to support Facilities Maintenance operations at Alabama A&M University. This role is responsible for the operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC and refrigeration systems across campus facilities, supporting a safe, comfortable, and reliable environment for students, faculty, and staff. This position is ideal for a technician with hands-on HVAC experience who is looking to grow their technical skillset within a stable, institutional environment such as higher education facilities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair advanced HVAC systems (VFDs, economizers, BMS, VRF/VRV, chillers, rooftop units)
  • Lead installation, start-up, and commissioning of HVAC systems
  • Diagnose and repair major refrigerant leaks and critical components (compressors, heat exchangers, control boards)
  • Balance airflow for optimal efficiency
  • Collaborate with vendors, management, and teams
  • Ensure compliance with codes, safety, and manufacturer guidelines
  • Mentor and guide team members
  • Develop project estimates and material lists

Qualifications
  • 7+ years? commercial/industrial HVAC experience
  • EPA 608 Universal certification required; NATE, OSHA 30, or VRF certifications preferred
  • Strong technical, diagnostic, and leadership skills
  • Must be able to follow safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
