Irrigation Helper

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Irrigation helper to deliver industry-leading service to our valued clients. The ideal candidate will possess a basic understanding of irrigation practices, including 2-wire, installation, programming, and repair. As an Irrigation Helper, you will help oversee daily operations, ensuring projects are completed efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Duties

• Lay out and install piping, valves, sprinkler heads, drip lines, controllers, and backflow devices.
• Perform routine checks for leaks, clogged nozzles, malfunctioning valves, or damaged components.
• Adjust sprinkler heads, pressure settings, and timers as needed.
• Diagnose electrical issues in controllers or wiring.
• Repair or replace broken sprinkler heads, valves, pumps, and pipes.
• Correct water pressure problems or uneven coverage.
• Set up irrigation schedules based on weather, soil, and plant needs.
• Update smart irrigation systems or Wi-Fi-enabled controllers.
• Test and calibrate system performance.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to supervisors.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of irrigation system components (sprinkler heads, valves, controllers, pumps, drip systems).
• Basic electrical knowledge for troubleshooting controllers and wiring.
• Basic understanding of hydraulics, water pressure, and flow rates.
• Experience with smart irrigation systems and timer programming.
• Competency with hand tools, power tools, trenchers, and pipe-fitting equipment.
• Ability to lift 40–60 lbs regularly.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to dig, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Good hand-eye coordination for precise repairs and installations.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Good communication skills for interacting with clients, supervisors, and team members.
• Time management and ability to work as part of a crew.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $21.00 per hour
