Job Overview
The Vice President of Operations will be a senior executive responsible for leading Poloniex's global operational strategy, ensuring excellence across all aspects of business execution, process management, and organizational performance.
Reporting directly to the CEO and COO, this role will oversee operations across trading, finance, compliance, customer support, and technology enablement — ensuring the company operates with efficiency, consistency, and resilience across all markets.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized, data-driven operator with deep experience in financial services, fintech, or cryptocurrency environments. They will have a proven record of scaling operational frameworks, optimizing business processes, and leading cross-functional execution in complex, regulated, and fast-changing markets.
Key Responsibilities
Global Operations Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute Poloniex's global operations strategy in alignment with corporate goals and growth initiatives.
Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, risk control, and operational excellence across all business functions.
Design and implement scalable operating models that support Poloniex's expansion into new products and markets.
Drive transformation initiatives focused on automation, standardization, and performance optimization.
Process Optimization & Business Efficiency
Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements across trading, settlement, and client servicing workflows.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to track efficiency, quality, and productivity across global operations.
Partner with technology and data teams to integrate automation, AI, and analytics into core operational processes.
Promote a continuous improvement culture that enhances agility, cost-effectiveness, and user satisfaction.
Cross-Functional Execution & Coordination
Collaborate with product, engineering, finance, and compliance teams to ensure seamless coordination and operational readiness.
Oversee operational risk assessments and contingency planning to maintain business continuity.
Ensure timely and efficient execution of new product launches, regulatory updates, and infrastructure initiatives.
Build strong alignment across global and regional teams to ensure unified delivery of business objectives.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
Ensure operations adhere to all applicable global and regional regulatory requirements, security standards, and internal policies.
Partner closely with legal, risk, and compliance teams to maintain a robust governance framework across operations.
Implement and oversee internal controls, risk mitigation procedures, and audit readiness initiatives.
Support proactive engagement with regulators and industry bodies to ensure transparency and compliance leadership.
Customer Operations & Service Quality
Oversee global customer operations, ensuring world-class service delivery, responsiveness, and issue resolution.
Define and manage service-level agreements (SLAs) to maintain high satisfaction for institutional and retail clients.
Drive cross-departmental collaboration to improve client onboarding, account servicing, and post-trade support.
Ensure operational processes enhance trust, transparency, and long-term customer relationships.
Leadership & Organizational Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of operations leaders and specialists.
Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous learning.
Collaborate with HR and executive leadership to ensure organizational structures support business scalability.
Represent Poloniex in industry discussions and forums as an advocate for operational innovation and excellence.
Qualifications
15+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations management within cryptocurrency, fintech, or global financial services.
Proven success in developing and scaling high-performing operational frameworks in regulated markets.
Strong understanding of blockchain ecosystems, trading operations, and digital asset infrastructure.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex, global operations with strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Operations Management, or related field required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
