Position Overview: Automotive Accounting Clerk (Dealership Accountant I)

  • Automotive industry experience required
  • Dealership accounting experience is preferred
  • CDK experience is A PLUS not required

Dealership Accountant I is as an entry level position that ensures timely, accurate and consistent recording of dealership transactions. This is a traditional accounting role that manages transactional posting of dealership activities. Accounting acumen is required. High performers will build upon their accounting & financial acumen while also building relationships and influential leadership skills. This will serve them well on a path to an Accounting Manager Role or if coupled with Automotive and Business acumen on the path to a Business Manager.

  • Wholesale Sales & Used Car Purchases - Recording of vehicle sales, Request & process lien payoffs, Street purchases, Title processing, dealer trades.
  • Dealership AP/AR - Processing and coding cash receipts & vendor invoices, Collection of dealership AR balances, Refunds, balance intercompany.
  • General Dealership Accounting - Daily cash deposits & Bank Reconciliation, Schedule reviews and maintenance, coding statements.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

  • Ability to quickly review, research and if necessary, resolve variances

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
