Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist providers with direct patient care, including vital signs, patient histories, and clinical procedures.
- Administer medications as ordered by a physician or mid-level provider.
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) and maintain organized patient records.
- Provide patient education, discharge instructions, and assist with coordination of referrals and follow-up care.
- Monitor patients for clinical changes and report concerns to the provider promptly.
- Maintain medical equipment, ensure exam rooms are properly stocked, and report safety or equipment issues.
- Uphold infection control standards and comply with OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Support quality improvement and customer service initiatives.
- Communicate professionally with patients, staff, and external contacts.
- Promotes the principles of healthcare integration and the Patient- Centered Medical Home.
- Maintain punctual and reliable attendance to meet department needs.
What We're Looking For:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certified through AAMA, AMT, or NCCT preferred.
- BLS/CPR certification required.
- Experience with EHR systems and outpatient primary care settings preferred.
- Compassion, attention to detail, and a team-oriented attitude.
