Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled AV / Tech Support specialist to provide comprehensive technical assistance for audiovisual systems and IT infrastructure. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting a wide range of hardware and software components to ensure seamless operation during events, meetings, and daily business activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, technical expertise, and a customer-focused approach to support users effectively across various platforms and environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for AV equipment, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting of audio, video, and presentation systems.
  • Manage computer hardware and software issues across multiple operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Assist users with desktop support tasks including software troubleshooting, network connectivity issues, VPN access, firewall configurations, and operating system problems.
  • Maintain and support IT infrastructure components such as LANs, switches, routers, and servers.
  • Utilize help desk tools like BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, and Jira to track incidents and service requests efficiently.
  • Support computer management tasks including software updates, hardware upgrades, and system configurations.
  • Troubleshoot network issues related to LAN/WAN connectivity and assist with network security measures.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve complex technical issues quickly while providing excellent customer service.
  • Document procedures and maintain inventory of AV equipment and IT assets.

Experience

  • Proven experience in technical support roles involving computer management, hardware troubleshooting, and software support.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite applications and common operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN setup, VPN configuration, firewalls, and network security protocols.
  • Experience working with IT support tools like ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy for incident management.
  • Strong understanding of AV systems including audio/video setup and troubleshooting during live events or meetings.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
  • Prior experience in help desk or desktop support roles preferred but not required; relevant certifications are a plus.
