Key Responsibilities:

  • Rack Integration Testing: Validate full rack assemblies (servers, switches, PDUs, cabling, cooling) for mechanical fit, power draw, thermal performance, and signal integrity. Manage automated test system to perform rack integration test
  • Network Validation: Test Layer 1–3 functionality (Ethernet, InfiniBand, fiber optics) using tools like iperf, netperf, tcpreplay, and packet generators. Verify VLANs, QoS, MTU, jumbo frames, and failover behavior.
  • Linux System Testing: Deploy and stress-test Ubuntu/CentOS images on bare-metal nodes. Validate kernel modules, drivers, firmware, BIOS/UEFI settings, and storage (NVMe, SATA, RAID).
  • Test Automation & Scripting: Develop Python/Bash scripts to automate rack bring-up, burn-in testing, and fault injection (e.g., cable pulls, power cycling, NIC failures).
  • Debugging & Root Cause Analysis: Use ethtool, dmesg, smartctl, and hardware debug tools (JTAG, IPMI) to isolate failures across hardware, firmware, and software layers.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Author detailed test plans, failure reports, and rack certification summaries. Track defects collaborate with Quality and HW/SW engineers on fixes.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years in hardware/systems test engineering (data center or server OEM experience preferred).
  • Strong Linux proficiency: Comfortable with systemd, udev, lsblk, and kernel debugging.
  • Networking fundamentals: OSI model, switching/routing, link aggregation.
  • Scripting: Python (pytest, paramiko) or Bash for test orchestration.
  • Familiarity with IPMI/IPMITool, Redfish APIs, and BMC management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
