Full Stack Developer – , Python, Java (Enterprise Budget Platform Modernization)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to join our cross-functional team responsible for modernizing and enhancing an enterprise-level budget management and analytics platform. You will play a key role in designing, building, and deploying scalable solutions across the full technology stack—spanning APIs, data pipelines, databases, and modern front-end frameworks.

This is a hands-on development role focused on delivering secure, high-performance financial applications in a cloud-enabled environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop backend services and APIs using ), Python (Django/Flask), and Java (Spring Boot).
  • Build intuitive, responsive front-end interfaces using React, Angular, or
  • Implement scalable ETL/data-engineering pipelines using PySpark and AWS Glue.
  • Develop and optimize relational data models using PostgreSQL, including performance tuning.
  • Collaborate closely with product owners, analysts, data engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end features.
  • Contribute to CI/CD automation, Docker-based deployments, and cloud-native architecture patterns.
  • Write comprehensive unit, integration, and API tests to ensure high software quality.
  • Maintain clear, accurate technical documentation and participate in code reviews.
  • Support continuous improvement, evaluating and adopting modern tools and engineering practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on full stack development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in and one or more backend stacks (Python or Java).
  • Experience with React, Angular, or front-end frameworks.
  • Solid background in building RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, schema design, indexing, and optimization.
  • Experience implementing PySpark workflows or large-scale ETL pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of AWS Glue or similar orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices including Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Git workflows.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an Agile environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

(Not required but strongly beneficial)

  • Experience supporting federal modernization projects, specifically:
  • USPTO systems, including data pipelines, analytics, or document processing workflows.
  • IRS environments or tax-related data platforms (e.g., MeF, GMF, ERS, GUF, EFS, or enterprise budget and financial reporting systems).
  • Familiarity with security-first development, FedRAMP, FISMA, or NIST frameworks.
  • Experience working with JIRA, Confluence, Scrum/SAFe, and multi-team coordination.
  • Prior involvement in large modernization initiatives using microservices or event-driven architectures.

Nice to Have

  • Experience optimizing cloud-native workloads on AWS.
  • Knowledge of caching strategies, message queues (Kafka/SQS), or distributed processing.
  • Exposure to financial systems, budgeting tools, or analytics dashboards.
