We are seeking an experienced Principal Technical Business Development Manager to develop and lead a plan to meet Amazon Auto's revenue targets, working closely with our Ads, BD and product organizations.
The Principal Technical Business Development Manager will be a key strategic leader, driving significant business opportunities and partnerships while influencing product direction and organizational strategy. This role requires exceptional business acumen, technical understanding, and the ability to influence executive levels across Amazon and with external partners.
Key job responsibilities
1. Drive and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies to accelerate revenue growth and exceed Amazon Auto's ambitious targets
- Orchestrate collaboration between Amazon Ads and Autos BD teams to identify, structure, and secure high-value strategic commercial partnerships with premier advertising clients
- Lead cross-functional sales initiatives with commercial teams and product groups to uncover and capitalize on new revenue opportunities
Shape product strategy and innovation by effectively translating customer and partner requirements into actionable insights for engineering and product teams
Significantly contribute to complex deal negotiations and strategic partnership discussions with major advertising partners
- Establish and nurture C-level relationships with key industry partners while maintaining strong internal stakeholder alignment
- Foster team excellence through mentorship, leadership development, and building scalable organizational capabilities
- Drive data-driven decision making by developing and tracking key performance metrics, market analytics, and competitive intelligence to identify growth opportunities and optimize sales strategies across both Auto and Advertising verticals
- Lead quarterly business reviews and strategic planning sessions with senior leadership, synthesizing market trends, partner feedback, and revenue performance to inform long-term business strategy and resource allocation
A day in the life
As a senior BD leader for Amazon Auto's advertising revenue strategy, you'll shape how we integrate our Autos and Ads capabilities to drive revenue growth. You'll lead go-to-market initiatives and help secure major partnerships through commercial negotiations with top brands. The role involves revenue generation through cross-team collaboration, performance analysis, and strategic planning to develop new revenue streams. You'll provide deal leadership from start to finish while providing team mentorship. Success requires both strategic vision and tactical execution – you'll need to excel at executive relationship building while helping drive complex commercial negotiations that impact our business direction.

We are part of Amazon's Advertising organization, focused on building innovative advertising solutions that help our partners grow their businesses while delivering value to Amazon customers.
- 7+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- 7+ years of professional or military experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Experience as a founder or executive focused on related segments, or as a practice leader or business unit owner
- Experience selling to Fortune 1000 or Global 2000 organizations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $158,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $262,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
