We are looking for one person to have 2 roles on a weekly basis divided between cashiering and hosting. 

HOST JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • SMILE, SMILE, SMILE —appearance must be nice, neat and clean, proper uniform according to our requirements
  • Greet customers with a friendly greeting, good morning or good afternoon before you ask "How many in your party?"
  • Have the ability to provide customers with accurate wait times
  • Be able to stand on your feet for 6 hour increments
  • Learn how to rotate seating between different sections to ensure even workloads for waitstaff
  • must be able to effectively communicate with bussers, servers and management
  • In the event of a problem please always get a manager
  • Keep front door windexed and floor area clean from debris
  • Clean menus as needed throughout the day
  • Complete side work before leaving and check out with a manager
  • Have a food handlers certificate (or obtain one within 2 weeks of being hired) and understand the restaurant's sanitation rules
  • Any other duties deemed necessary by management

CASHIER JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Stand on feet for 6 hours at a time
  • Greet customers politely & quickly when arriving and leaving
  • Properly run cash register, count back change & thoroughly run credit card machines.
  • Learn the menu for take out orders
  • Phone etiquette and properly take to go orders
  • Learn take out bagging system
  • Do daily & weekly side work after each shift
  • Be attentive at all times
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $ $15.00 per hour

Compensation: $ $18.00 per hour

Since Southern Kitchen's existence in the early 80's, it has been family owned and operated since 1989 by Kimberly Keown. We are a full-service breakfast and lunch diner serving homemade recipes.   We pride ourselves on our cleanliness and enjoy serving our loyal and new customers daily with our friendly staff. We are open seven days a week with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter Sunday. Many consider SK their "Home Away From Home."
