Job Title: Export Agent
OCEANAIR is seeking an Export Agent to manage international shipment coordination, documentation, and compliance. In this role, you will handle complex export transactions, communicate with carriers and clients, and ensure shipments move efficiently and accurately from origin to destination. You will work closely with a collaborative team to deliver timely, high-quality service in global logistics. This postions is 100% in office.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Salary: $19.23 an hour to $28.46 an hour
Reports to: Branch Manager
Schedule: M-F 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end export transactions, including booking, documentation, billing, and data processing in CargoWise our Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Ensure all shipments— including hazardous materials— comply with IATA, CFR, and IMDG regulations and obtain necessary consular and government agency releases.
- Prepare and review export documentation such as air waybills, bills of lading, AES filings, and commercial invoices with accuracy and timeliness.
- Communicate proactively with clients, carriers, and agents to coordinate pickups, resolve exceptions, and ensure smooth shipment delivery through final destination.
- Identify cost-effective solutions and provide shipment quotations while maintaining service excellence and compliance standards.
- Investigate and resolve client concerns promptly, promoting positive relationships and continuous process improvement.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in logistics, business, or related field preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer service mindset and ability to work well under deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- 1- 5 years' experience in freight forwarding, export operations, or logistics a plus—but we're willing to train the right candidate
- Cargowise experience a bonus
