RMA is seeking hire a full-time LPN in our Outpatient Vascular Access Center. This is a Monday - Friday day shift.
About the Role:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care within outpatient surgery and wound care settings. This position involves providing direct nursing care, monitoring patient conditions, and assisting with pain management to ensure optimal recovery and comfort. The LPN will educate patients and their families on post-operative care and wound management, promoting adherence to treatment plans and enhancing patient outcomes. Effective communication in English is essential for documenting care, coordinating with healthcare teams, and delivering clear patient instructions. Ultimately, the LPN contributes to a safe, compassionate, and efficient healthcare environment by applying clinical skills and nursing knowledge under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid and current Nursing License as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the practicing state.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication and documentation.
- Demonstrated experience or training in outpatient surgery and wound care.
- Ability to perform venipuncture safely and competently.
- Strong foundational knowledge of patient care principles and pain management techniques.
- 1-2 years of experience of patient assessment in surgical intervention setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in outpatient surgical or wound care clinics.
- Certification in wound care or pain management.
- Additional training or certification in patient education or health coaching.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Basic life support (BLS) or advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) certification.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care including wound assessment, dressing changes, and monitoring for signs of infection or complications.
- Assist in outpatient surgical procedures by preparing patients, performing venipuncture, and supporting the surgical team as needed.
- Educate patients and their families on wound care techniques, pain management strategies, and post-operative instructions to promote healing and prevent readmission.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans that address patient needs and improve health outcomes.
Skills:
The required skills such as outpatient surgery knowledge and wound care expertise are applied daily to assess and treat patients effectively, ensuring proper healing and minimizing complications. Patient education skills are essential for instructing patients on self-care practices, which directly impacts recovery and satisfaction. Proficiency in English enables clear communication with patients and healthcare team members, as well as accurate documentation of care provided. The ability to perform venipuncture is critical for diagnostic testing and treatment administration, supporting clinical decision-making. Pain management skills are utilized to assess patient discomfort and implement appropriate interventions, enhancing patient comfort and overall care quality.
