The Project Manager - Expedites plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of transportation and warehousing projects that require urgent attention. The role demands proactive communication with internal stakeholders, vendors, and clients to maintain transparency and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Success in this role directly impacts customer satisfaction and operational efficiency by minimizing delays and optimizing resource allocation. Ultimately, the Project Manager - Expedites drives the seamless execution of high-priority projects within the transportation and warehousing sector across the United States.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of project management experience in transportation, logistics, or warehousing environments.
- Proven ability to manage expedited or time-sensitive projects successfully.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and warehousing operations within the United States.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with diverse teams and external partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Familiarity with customs regulations and international shipping processes.
- Demonstrated ability to use data analytics tools to monitor and improve project performance.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment managing multiple concurrent projects.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee expedited transportation and warehousing projects from initiation through completion, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Coordinate with logistics providers, suppliers, and internal teams to facilitate rapid shipment and delivery of goods.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Communicate project status, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders regularly to maintain alignment and transparency.
- Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including schedules, reports, and compliance records.
- Optimize resource allocation and workflow processes to improve efficiency in expedited project execution.
- Lead cross-functional teams to resolve issues related to transportation delays, customs clearance, and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and company policies during expedited operations.
