Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Worker to provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, autism, and memory care needs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting clients in their daily activities, promoting their independence, and ensuring their overall well-being. This role requires a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and fostering a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Support clients in daily living activities including meal preparation, medication reminders, and household chores.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to help clients cope with challenges and promote positive behavior.
  • Engage clients in recreational activities to enhance their social skills and emotional well-being.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in behavior or health to the appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and other team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Ensure a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and performing regular safety checks.

Experience

  • Previous experience in home care, nursing home settings, or direct support roles is preferred.
  • Familiarity with memory care techniques and working with individuals with disabilities or autism is highly desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of first aid procedures is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients are essential for success in this role.
  • A compassionate demeanor and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in your care are crucial.
