We also offer professional development opportunities and collaborative environments for our educators, supporting their growth as leaders in education. We are seeking a Middle School 6th Grade ELA / SS Teacher to inspire students through engaging, hands-on learning in coding, digital literacy, and problem-solving. The ideal candidate will foster computational thinking, integrate technology creatively, and collaborate with colleagues to support student growth in a college-preparatory environment. Many faculty members enjoy investing in their students and the community by mentoring, coaching, advising a school club or activity, participating in curriculum development, professional learning, and school committees.

However, educators new to the profession who possess the right knowledge and disposition will be considered. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move around the classroom for extended periods. Clear vision and hearing to monitor student activities and interact with students. Ability to speak clearly and project voice to address a group of students.
Occasional need to lift and carry items like books, supplies, or equipment, depending on the grade level. Ability to build rapport and positive relationships with students and parents from diverse backgrounds. Effective time management including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities. Learning Environment Establish and maintain a classroom culture that fosters strong relationships and a sense of community. Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning space that supports student engagement.
Set and enforce clear, consistent expectations for classroom procedures and student behavior. Promote a college-preparatory learning environment by encouraging student goal-setting and perseverance. Ensure the physical classroom environment is organized, accessible, and conducive to learning. Learning Experience Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons with clear learning objectives and success criteria.
Implement effective instructional structures (WICOR) to develop students critical thinking, collaboration, and organizational skills. Use questioning and discussion techniques to promote student reasoning, reflection, and deeper learning. Collect and analyze evidence of student learning to inform instruction and differentiate support. Provide timely, actionable feedback that helps students self-assess and improve their learning.
Use formative and summative assessments to measure student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Learning Design & Analysis Engage in intentional lesson planning that incorporates research-based strategies and scaffolding. Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and instructional teams to improve student outcomes. Track and analyze student data to inform instruction and interventions.
Communicate student progress effectively with students, parents, and stakeholders. Reflect on instructional practices and use data to make informed adjustments. Professionalism Demonstrate timely and professional communication with students, families, and colleagues. Adhere to all district policies, state and federal laws, and professional standards.
Participate in professional development and actively apply new learning to improve instruction. Fulfill assigned duties (e.g., AM/PM supervision, parent-teacher conferences, faculty meetings). Support school-wide initiatives, including Special Education and English Language Learner (ELL) compliance. Maintain accurate and timely records, including attendance, grades, and student accommodations.
