A part-time postdoctoral position in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas is currently available. The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for developing novel chemistries and processes to enable the next generation of polymers (including shape-memory polymers) for flexible electronics applications.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Conduct experiments using advanced equipment & applying complex techniques, methods & procedures; plan & perform quantitative & qualitative research procedures; plan & execute the details of experiments according to research protocol; other duties as assigned. Responsibilities will include designing and synthesizing polymers and scaling up reactions from gram to kilogram scale (as needed) for use in flexible electronics. Novel flexible electronics fabrication processes will also be developed and characterized. Additionally, the candidate will: mentor students, present results at national-international conferences, write grants and patents, and publish results in high impact factor journals; other duties as assigned.
