Amphenol High Speed and Commercial Products Groups are global leaders in high-speed, high-bandwidth electrical connectors. This role supports our Strategic Markets team — including Automotive, Industrial, and Consumer segments. Our products help power the electronics revolution and serve as key enablers for major Tier 1 OEMs worldwide.

We are seeking a Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to join our West Coast team, based in Santa Clara, CA. This position plays a vital role in supporting our customers by delivering innovative interconnect solutions and technical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead within the sales team, managing all engineering aspects of the sales cycle — from discovery and design to prototyping and production.
  • Collaborate with customers, product development, marketing, and sales teams to deliver best-in-class interconnect solutions.
  • Provide technical marketing support for the design and development of commercial products, including high-voltage, low-voltage, Ethernet, rugged, and industrial solutions.
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations and customer-facing materials tailored to specific applications.
  • Support customers with technical inquiries, providing innovative solutions to meet their design and production needs.
  • Contribute to product differentiation strategies that strengthen Amphenol's competitive advantage.
  • Help achieve and exceed strategic and business objectives.
  • Travel up to 30% domestically, with occasional international travel as required.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent technical field.
  • Preferred majors: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in Design or Applications Engineering within the electrical hardware or interconnect solutions industry.
  • Proven experience providing technical and product marketing support to drive design wins.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface across multiple organizational levels.
  • Exceptional customer service mindset and ability to build lasting client relationships.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling tools such as Creo or SolidWorks.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
