What You'll Do:
As a Sauté Line Cook, you'll be the maestro behind our sauces, soups, and entrees, ensuring every dish is prepared to perfection Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with the Sous Chef and Room Chef to manage scheduling, product availability, employee breaks, daily specials, cleanliness, and safety concerns.
- Preparing menu items according to the recipes provided by the Sous Chef or Executive Chef—precision is key
- Recognizing and correcting any discrepancies in product quality and standards to maintain our high culinary reputation.
- Cooking all sautéed items to our restaurant's recipes and standards, ensuring each dish is bursting with flavor.
- Mastering at least one station while maintaining the highest quality in every finished product.
- Practicing proper knife handling skills—safety first
- Coordinating with the kitchen team to time dish preparation for synchronized plating and serving, keeping the service smooth and efficient.
- Managing the sauté station by organizing ingredients and ensuring everything is stocked and ready to go during service.
- Experimenting with new sautéing techniques and ingredients to propose exciting new menu items and specials to the head chef.
- Assisting with monthly restaurant inventory to keep our kitchen running like a well-oiled machine.
- Cleaning and maintaining the sauté station, including stovetops and utensils, to adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Ensuring that no food leaves the kitchen without a ticket, including the manager's meals—no shortcuts here
- Properly wrapping, labeling, dating, and storing all food items in their designated areas.
- Other duties as assigned to keep our kitchen thriving
What We're Looking For:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma and/or GED (preferred).
- ServSafe Certification (preferred)
- At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- 3 to 5 years of experience working in a kitchen, preparing cold food and salads for counter displays.
- Knowledge of Asian dishes is a plus—bring your creativity
- The ability to follow recipes and create a consistent product.
- A team player mentality with the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English (bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus).
- A well-groomed appearance that reflects our commitment to quality.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, with variable overtime.
- The ability to tolerate areas with secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
