Carewell Cremations is a family-owned, Virginia-based crematory and funeral home specializing in online direct cremation and green burial services. We provide families with compassionate, transparent, and affordable services.

We're looking for a dedicated Funeral Director to join our team. This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a growing company and make a meaningful impact on the families we serve.

Duties

• Coordinate and conduct funeral or memorial services, family views including preparation and presentation of the deceased.
• Work closely with families to plan personalized memorial services, ensuring all details are addressed.
• Provide bereavement support to families, offering guidance and resources during their time of grief.
• Manage administrative tasks such as filing necessary paperwork, obtaining permits, and maintaining records in a timely manner online.
• Oversee transportation arrangements for the deceased and family members.
• Help with pre-need sales

Skills

• Comfortable with computers - we do mostly everything online.
• Pre-need License
• Compassionate demeanor with a focus on providing bereavement support to families in need.
• Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with grieving families online, over the phone or in person.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs to help with lifting as required when handling caskets or assisting with transport.
• Experience in sales to promote services offered by the funeral home.
• Proficiency in event planning to ensure seamless execution of memorial services.
• Understanding of funeral directing practices and legal requirements within the industry.
• Valid Driver's License (clean driving record)
• Licensed Funeral Director in Virginia, Maryland and/or Washington, DC
• 2+ years of relevant experience (preferred)
• Strong communication & customer service skills
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in various conditions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65, $75,000.00 per year
