Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong culinary expertise, leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences. This role involves overseeing food preparation, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality service in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in fine dining, menu planning, and food industry operations is highly valued. The Lead Line Cook will play a crucial role in supporting kitchen operations and mentoring junior staff to uphold our commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to safety protocols
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, including other cooks and food prep personnel
  • Assist with menu planning, ingredient ordering, and inventory management
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations in compliance with health regulations
  • Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation to ensure consistency
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to deliver seamless dining experiences
  • Implement food safety practices, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
  • Support catering events and special functions as needed
  • Serve as a role model for professionalism, teamwork, and culinary excellence

Skills

  • Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations within a restaurant or culinary setting
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling techniques
  • Excellent knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
  • Experience with menu planning and food industry best practices
  • Background in dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus
  • Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency
  • Fine dining experience is preferred but not required; a passion for culinary arts is essential
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and service
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff
