POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maher Garden Center Holiday Retail Associate (Seasonal) primarily supports the sale and handling of Christmas trees and related holiday greenery. Ideal candidates enjoy working outdoors, have a friendly attitude, and are ready to spread holiday cheer while providing excellent customer service. This seasonal position is approximately the last week in November through the end of December.

Responsibilities:

· Greet customers and assist with selecting Christmas trees and holiday greenery (wreaths, garlands, etc.)

· Carry, lift, and load Christmas trees into customer vehicles*

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe tree lot and work area

· Water and care for live trees and greenery to maintain freshness

· Trim, tie and net trees as needed using appropriate tools*

· Operate hand tools and equipment safely (tree saws, drills, tree balers, etc.)*

· Provide product information and answer customer questions

· Process transactions at checkout

· Assist with restocking, inventory, and displays

· Decorate wreaths for purchasing

Qualifications:

  • Friendly, outgoing, and customer-service oriented
  • Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Physically able to lift 40–60 lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods*
  • Comfortable using hand tools and equipment*
  • Punctual, reliable, and a team player
  • Weekend and evening availability

*Candidate might not handle all duties. Will depend on abilities.

Reports to: Garden Center Manager

Job Type: Seasonal

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
