Modern Memory Design is a family-owned custom picture frame shop and online store located in the heart of Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey. We specialize in high-quality, made-in-USA custom framing for photos, artwork, posters, sports jerseys, diplomas, memorabilia, canvas stretching, shadow boxes, and more. With over 26 years of experience, we pride ourselves on exceptional craftsmanship, personalized service, and helping customers preserve their cherished memories. Our shop serves local Bergen County residents as well as customers nationwide through our online platform.
Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, and customer-oriented Front of House Sales Associate to join our small team. This role is the face of our shop, responsible for greeting customers, providing expert advice on framing options, processing sales, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. No prior framing experience is required—we will train the right candidate—but a passion for art, design, and helping people is essential
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist walk-in customers with a warm, welcoming attitude.
- Consult with customers to understand their needs, recommend frame styles, mats, glazing options, and designs that complement their artwork or photos.
- Use our in-store tools and online builder to create custom framing previews and quotes.
- Handle point-of-sale transactions, including cash, credit, and online orders.
- Manage phone inquiries, emails, and appointment scheduling.
- Assist with light shop duties, such as displaying samples, organizing inventory, and preparing orders for pickup.
- Promote our services, including jersey framing, canvas stretching, large-format printing, and bulk discounts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting showroom.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—must enjoy interacting with people
- Basic computer skills (for quotes, emails, and POS system).
- Interest in art, design, photography, or home decor is a plus.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently in a small team environment.
- Availability to work Tuesdays–Fridays (12pm–7pm) and Saturdays (9am–3pm); flexible scheduling available.
- Retail or customer service experience preferred but not required.
