Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient care practices, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Duties

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
  • Perform routine administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling billing inquiries.
  • Conduct basic laboratory tests and prepare samples for analysis.
  • Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by physicians.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient histories, vital signs, and treatment plans.
  • Educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in clinical areas.
  • Utilize coding knowledge for accurate billing processes related to patient care services.

Experience

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required.
  • Experience in a hospital or clinic setting is preferred, particularly in areas such as PICU or hospital medicine.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and basic life support (BLS) certification is essential.
  • Familiarity with outpatient services, medical-surgical procedures, and patient care best practices is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team are necessary for success in this role.
