Role Description:

'OMICS bIOMARKER DISCOVERY INTERN

Location: Fort Collins, CO

Internship Summary:

The intern would assist in data collation, including metadata generation, and data mining using internal tools. The integration of clinical data with 'omic datasets (metabolomics, transcriptomics, proteomics) will be integrated to support bovine and porcine gut health projects. This project would require data mining from internal and external datasets for identification of biomarkers associated with clinical dysfunction, aiding in the understanding of baseline and development changes.

Internship Job Duties:

  • Integrate clinical and omic data sets
  • Generate metadata documents and use internal and external resources for data mining
  • Identify biomarkers and contribute to the mechanistic understanding of disease progression and severity
  • Create visuals and presentations for team meetings

Internship Qualifications:

  • Applicants at minimum must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree having completed at least their junior level.
  • Candidate pursuing a Masters or a PhD degree will be given preference
  • Majors in Immunology, Cell biology, Microbiology, Genetics, Bioinformatics are preferred
  • Experience with computational/data science and immunology/animal health preferable
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Organized, self-starter, able to take direction, good written and oral communication, presentation skills
  • Recommended experience in immunology, cell biology, GraphPad, IPA, JMP, R/Python and Excel

The following hourly pay rates reflect the anticipated base pay for this position:

If the selected candidate is a student pursuing an Associate-level degree: $16.00 per hour

If the selected candidate is a student pursuing an Undergraduate-level degree: $22.00 per hour

If the selected candidate is a student pursing a Graduate-level degree: $32.50 per hour

If the selected candidate is a student pursuing a Doctorate-level degree: $36.00 per hour

The following hourly pay rates reflect the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to be located in California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Illinois (Chicago area), Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington (Seattle area):

Student pursuing an Associate-level degree: $17.00 per hour

Student pursuing an Undergraduate-level degree: $24.20 per hour

Student pursing a Graduate-level degree: $36.40 per hour

Student pursuing a Doctorate-level degree: $40.30 per hour
