JOB TITLE: Underwriting Inspection Specialist

REPORTS TO: Manager, Personal Lines Underwriting

PAY RANGE: $48,000 - $60,000 annually

SUMMARY

Under general supervision, performs various duties to support underwriting inspection process and procedures.

EDUCATION

High School diploma at minimum is required; however, a college degree, personal or commercial lines insurance experience or an AINS Designation preferred.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Three years of property and casualty insurance processing experience.
  • Experience with various forms of inspection software and applications, including FlyReel and BetterView
  • Effective communication skills, especially telephone.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Effective team player.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Order and track inspections for new business and renewal accounts per underwriting requirements.
  • Review inspection reports for accuracy and completeness, identifying potential risks and hazards.
  • Provide clear recommendations based on inspection findings to support underwriting decisions.
  • Communicate results and requirements to underwriters and agents.
  • Maintain documentation of inspections and ensure timely completion and follow-up.
  • Identify trends in inspection outcomes and share insights with underwriting management.
  • Assists underwriting team as requested
