Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations and overall functions of the community business office
- Maximize cash flow through timely and accurate billing, collections, and reimbursement processes
- Provide administrative and office support to the Administrator and leadership team
- Manage accounts receivable, petty cash, resident trust funds, and cash receipts
- Assist residents and families with move-ins, tours, financial paperwork, and general inquiries
- Direct, coordinate, and monitor all activities of the business office to ensure compliance and efficiency
- Submit claims for all payer types in accordance with company policies and all state/federal regulations
- Track, monitor, and collect outstanding accounts receivable
- Report delinquent accounts and financial concerns to facility leadership
- Maintain accurate financial and administrative records
BOM Qualifications:
- High school diploma required
- Associate degree in Business Administration preferred, but not required
- Prior business office experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting is required
- 1–3 years of bookkeeping and administrative experience
- Working knowledge of accounting procedures, including petty cash, resident trust funds, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Previous experience (1–3 years) in a nursing home or long-term care business office strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of Long-Term Care regulations and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and Managed Care billing processes is required
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer-service skills
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with professionalism and accuracy
