Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Over the Road Truck Driver to join our team. This position involves long-distance driving, transporting goods across various states while ensuring timely and safe delivery. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating different types of trucks and trailers, demonstrating a commitment to safety and efficiency on the road.

Duties

  • Operate tractor-trailer units for long-haul deliveries, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Manage the loading and unloading of freight, ensuring proper handling of goods.
  • Navigate routes effectively, utilizing GPS and maps to optimize delivery schedules.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and fuel consumption.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Communicate with dispatchers regarding delivery status, route changes, or any issues encountered on the road.
  • Handle various types of trailers including refrigerated trailers, dry van trailers and flat bed trailers.
  • Drivers will never be asked to touch the freight.

Requirements

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Familiarity with different truck types such as refrigerated trailers and dry van trailers.
  • Proven experience in truck driving or delivery driver roles is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of route driving techniques and logistics management.
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with dispatchers and customers.
