Engineering Technician

Job description
This candidate must have the ability to understand mechanical concepts and processes easily, as well as be proficient with the use of equipment and tools to diagnose and repair equipment. This candidate will also be helping create Bills of Materials (BOM's) and Routings for our new ERP system
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related background
- 1-2 years of industrial experience as a engineer is preferred but
we will accept new graduates - Proficient with a 3D modeling software, prefer SolidWorks experience
- Proficient in Excel
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with a team of engineers and other personnel to develop and maintain mechanical and robotic systems to improve the manufacturing process in our industrial manufacturing plant.
- Propose and implement cost-reduction and runtime improvements.
- Support production team with troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
- Design/produce effective solutions for needed fixtures and tools.
- Participate in training of operators on new machinery and control systems.
- Propose new technologies and machinery to improve manufacturing abilities and efficiency.
- Provide production and sales support as needed.
- Knowledge of PLC's, automation, or robotics is a plus.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, cell concept, and value stream mapping also a plus.
- Welding experience is a plus
- Machining experience is a plus
Language Skills and Reasoning Ability:
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Must have the ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to employees and customers.
- Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
- Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a logical and tactful manner.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Must be able to bend, squat, and stretch (Repetitive motion)
- Must be able to climb ladder and work in high areas
- Must be fit tested for respirator use
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle (Valid Driver's License)
