Part-time Janitor

Overview:

The Janitor position actively participates in carrying out the mission of CCHC by providing janitorial support in supportive housing. . This position will perform janitorial duties of the building.
Duties and Responsibilities:

· Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team to effectively perform duties.

· Provide cleaning and general upkeep of the property.

· Responsible for assisting in identifying long- and short-term cleaning and repair projects.

· Implement a routine cleaning schedule that includes cleaning floors, windows, storage spaces, restrooms, common areas,    

   grounds, and other areas as assigned.

· Complete daily cleaning tasks.

· Assist in snow and ice removal from sidewalks and entryways.

· Assist in cleaning and preparing rooms for rental.

· Be familiar with tools and equipment necessary for janitorial services.

· Prioritize and manage cleaning projects.

· Communicate with and relate to diverse populations.

· Abide by current safety regulations as defined by OSHA, Fire and Health Departments and other regulatory agencies.

Requirements

Preferred Experience:

This position requires a person who is self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as a member of a team to carry out job duties. Must pass Minnesota Background Study clearance.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality

• Skill in establishing and maintaining positive relationships with diverse tenants and staff

• Regular attendance, reliability, and punctuality

• Sensitivity and effectiveness when dealing with people from diverse backgrounds and with special needs

Physical Demands:

Must be able to safely navigate stairs and ladders, bend, squat, kneel, reach overhead and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
