SUMMARY

  • Provides rail maintenance/construction inspections and estimates in conjunction with Project Managers - Estimators, coordinates with operations activities for providing the delivery of work to projects. Secures cost and pricing from internal and external customers. Responsible for special projects assigned to coordinate regarding operating excellence:

  • Work across network to establish a uniform logistics platform.
  • Drive upgrade in tools to establish operational financial discipline.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In Collaboration with Regional Leaders – Project Management and Estimating and Finance ensures that inventory, payroll, fuel costs, equipment costs, and other costs are managed effectively and drives the introduction of tools and processes to ease workflows.

In Collaboration with Mechanical develops and coordinates with the current and next generation tools our preventive maintenance program for all equipment with the assistance of the mechanical department.

In Collaboration with Operations develops the producers and process upgrades and next generation tools deliver to Project Management team for process improvement to administrative duties including scheduling forms, bid forms, evaluation forms, filing reports that are response to internal and external customer reporting requirements.

Working with Regional Leaders – Operations to standardize the logistics delivery for equipment and inventory related to infield project execution. Develop carrier protocols, vendor approval, rate structure and priority vendors.

Reads and analyzes requests for proposals in developing professional responses for new construction work.

Maintains a safe working environment by making sure all employees understand and follow all safety rules.

Walks railroad tracks, identifying deficiencies in the track infrastructure and preparing proposals and pricing for correcting deficiencies for customers.

Maintains a positive relationship with internal and external customer by providing a high level of service and by meeting goals set by the customer and Ameritrack.

Maintains a thorough knowledge of operating procedures, safety rules, and rail construction operations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

College degree in Building and Construction Technology or equivalent construction management experience preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write professional proposals, routine reports and customer correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to use a calculator. Ability to use Microsoft Excel and Word.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with standard problems that occur in a construction environment.

Excellent benefits

Pay range: $50,000 to $150,000
