Supplier Quality Engineer

Job Summary
The Supplier Quality Engineer is a key component in any partnership with TI Automotive and their supply chain. The SQE's role is to ensure that all suppliers meet the required quality standards and specifications set forth in the TI Automotive Supplier Quality & Development Manual, IATF/ISO Standards, and OEM requirements. This involves evaluating supplier processes, conducting audits, coaching, support in root cause analysis activities, perform scheduled/unscheduled visits, drive corrective action on systemic issues, monitor CS1/CS2 sorting activity, and recoup cost recovery efforts in a timely manner.
The SQE will contribute to a co-operative work environment and adhere to TI Automotive code of conduct where fairness, equity, and non-discriminatory practices are the standard.
The SQE candidate must have a valid driver's license and active passport, this position requires up to 60% combined domestic and international travel. When travel is not active employee will resume to the company's onsite 5-day work schedule at the corporate location in Auburn Hills, Michigan or designated by regional location: Monday–Friday (8am-5pm).
Job Responsibilities
- As part of the Corporate Quality team will assist TI Automotive Business Units & Plants.
- Analyzes and complete Supplier Risk assessments.
- Conducts on site and virtual Supplier audits and works with suppliers to develop corrective actions, with follow up, and completing validation analysis.
- Proactively works with the various TI Automotive Operations in reviewing supplier quality and delivery performance issues.
- Determine potential risks on various components and ways to mitigate any disruptions to the manufacturing facilities.
- Ensures Action Plans are developed and monitored for risk-based suppliers.
- Manages the SQN portal; ensures timely and accurate closure of SQN's and cost recovery efforts.
- Supports BTAB Process, Run @ Rates, and PPAP activities where necessary.
- Completes weekly / monthly Executive Reports for Quality, Purchasing, and Business Units.
Job Qualifications
- Five (5) years of Supplier Quality experience in automotive components.
Experience in the following audits:
IATF Internal Auditing (certification required)
PPAP process from award of program to sop (start of production)
Capacity Study /
Control Plan Process Walk/Review
Supplier Risk Assessments
Sourcing / Resourcing Activity
Engineering and technical competence is required.
- Managing 3rd party sorting activity
- Ability to work with minimum supervision is necessary.
- Excellent computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, SharePoint, ERP systems (CMS/Epicor/IQMS),
- Familiar with/similar applications (EASE (lpa auditing) (FIIX (plant maintenance)
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
- A demonstrated ability to use initiative; strong business acumen, and proven ability to think critically.
- Domestic and international travel mandatory up to 60%, must have valid passport and driver's license.
- Can manage activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven automotive experience in plastic injection molding (interior/exterior), blow molding, hvac systems, consoles, fluid systems, washer bottles, aips (air inlet panels) cowl panels, will be an asset.
- Fluency in one or more languages will be a definite asset but not required.

Working Conditions
- Mandatory in office Monday – Friday. Scheduled 8-hour shift, working hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with one hour lunch break.
- Flexibility to work schedule when traveling will be reviewed and approved by regional manager in advance.
