About Us
We are a well-established manufacturing company located in East Butler, PA, seeking a dynamic and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team. This role is vital in supporting both our daily operations and long-term strategic goals by optimizing our purchasing processes and enhancing vendor relationships.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate will have the ability to evaluate our current planning system and develop efficient buying solutions that support production while minimizing costs and maximizing quality. This individual will manage all day-to-day purchasing activities and lead a team of purchasing agents to meet collective performance goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead vendor negotiations and maintain strong, productive vendor relationships.
- Expedite orders and resolve supplier issues to avoid production delays.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
- Improve quality and reduce costs through strategic sourcing.
- Supervise purchasing specialists and ensure purchasing goals are consistently met.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Production Managers to forecast material needs and plan for upcoming projects.
- Monitor and maintain awareness of Work in Process and physical inventory balances.
- Perform accurate and timely inventory cycle counts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of purchasing experience in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems; experience with Visual is a plus.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and support multiple departments.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $65,000 – $85,000 (commensurate with experience)
- Work Schedule: Monday – Friday
