Oilfield Lab Technician – 1099 Contractor Opportunity Company: Locus Bio-Energy

Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Technology Lab Manager

Job Description: Position is responsible for general oilfield chemicals laboratory testing, analyzing data and

generating reports.

Key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Conduct analyses of raw material and finished product samples using tensiometers, densitometers, pH

meters and viscometers.

  • Perform standard oilfield chemicals laboratory performance testing.
  • Adapt ASTM test methodologies for new product line development.
  • Communicate results directly with the team and Technology Lab Manager.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and other documentation as required.
  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory working environment including organization of materials.
  • Utilize good laboratory practices and perform lab procedures in accordance with the SOPs.
  • Wear required PPE while carrying out position responsibilities.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree program in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering,

Petroleum Engineering or related discipline.

  • Minimum of 1 years' experience in industry or academic laboratory setting.
  • Familiarity with instrumental and wet chemical techniques preferred.
  • Position is in person located in The Woodlands, TX. Relocation is not offered.

  • Strong communication skills; both verbal and written.
  • Ability to identify problems and execute standard procedures.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, Outlook efficiently.

move through the laboratory 50% of the time and remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. The employee

will occasionally lift and or carry up to 25 lbs. Employee will occasionally use computer, phone, copier and other

office equipment in the course of a day.

Work Environment:

Work is performed in a temperature-controlled laboratory environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
