Rancho is currently hiring for the position of Human Resources Manager in our Bakersfield office.

The Human Resources Manager will collaborate closely with Executive Leadership to develop and implement a robust HR strategy that aligns with Rancho's mission, vision, and organizational objectives. This role requires an experienced HR leader with a proven track record of managing Human Resources within complex organizations exceeding 300+ employees, including union and non-union workforces.

The HR Manager will provide strategic leadership across various HR functions, including compensation, benefits, employee and labor relations, recruitment, workforce planning, and compliance. This individual will also oversee HR policies, employee engagement initiatives, and HR metrics reporting to support the organization's long-term success. Effective communication and collaboration with legal counsel on employee-related legal matters are essential components of this role.

This role is open to potential hybrid work options from either San Bernardino or Bakersfield, California offices pending negotiation. Successful candidate will be expected to travel between office locations throughout California up to 20% of the time. This role may require additional infrequent travel for business purposes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Collaborate with Executive Leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive HR strategy aligned with company objectives and organizational culture.
  • Shape and guide long-term HR planning to meet evolving business needs.

Total Compensation & Benefits Strategy

  • Lead the development and execution of a competitive total compensation strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee employee benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and regulatory compliance.

Employee & Labor Relations

  • Manage employee relations, including documentation processes, remediation, corrective actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Serve as a liaison with senior leaders and legal counsel on employee cases and related matters.
  • Provide labor relations advocacy, contract interpretation, dispute resolution, and direct representation for Union-related issues.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with union representatives.

Employee Engagement & Organizational Culture

  • Implement initiatives that enhance employee engagement, retention, and organizational culture.
  • Develop programs promoting a positive work environment and employee well-being.

HR Metrics & Reporting

  • Define and monitor HR metrics to assess program effectiveness and strategic goal progress.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to Executive Leadership to guide decision-making.

Relocation & Attendance Management

  • Develop and manage the strategic aspects of the employee relocation program.
  • Oversee strategic attendance policies ensuring alignment with company needs and compliance standards.

HR Policies & Compliance

  • Ensure HR policies are current, legally compliant, and effectively communicated.
  • Facilitate the creation of job descriptions and performance metrics for all positions.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
  • 3+ years of senior-level HR leadership experience in organizations exceeding 300+ employees with union and non-union workforces,
  • Expertise in HR strategy, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and organizational change management.
  • Proven collaboration skills with senior leaders and legal counsel to address complex issues.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership with the ability to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, HR metrics, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • SHRM-SCP or equivalent senior HR certification (preferred).
  • Experience in legal compliance and correspondence (preferred).
  • Experience leading a multi-disciplinary HR team in a large organization (preferred).

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

    $110,000 - $130,000 per year
