Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Surgery Scheduler to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the scheduling of surgical procedures, ensuring seamless communication between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff. This position requires a strong background in medical administrative support and excellent interpersonal skills to enhance patient service.

Duties

  • Schedule surgical procedures efficiently while coordinating with surgeons, patients, and other medical staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient appointments and surgical schedules in the computerized system.
  • Provide exceptional patient service by answering inquiries regarding surgery details, preparation instructions, and follow-up care.
  • Utilize 10 key typing skills for accurate data entry and management of patient information.
  • Assist with medical billing processes as needed to ensure proper documentation and claims submission.
  • Demonstrate professional phone etiquette when communicating with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Perform clerical duties such as filing, faxing, and managing correspondence related to surgical scheduling.

Skills

  • Proven experience in medical administrative support within a healthcare setting, must have familiarity with insurance verification.
  • Proficient in using computerized scheduling systems and office software applications.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
  • Familiarity with medical billing processes is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
