Shift: 1st Shift – Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM start

Looking for a steady, hands-on job that keeps you active and rewards your effort? Road & Rail Services is hiring a Railcar Prepper in Lafayette, Indiana. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys physical work, being outdoors, and being part of a team that keeps freight moving safely and efficiently.

As a Railcar Prepper, you'll work outdoors cleaning, inspecting, and preparing railcars for loading. You'll climb ladders up to 20 feet, lift up to 50 pounds, and use tools like blowers and scrapers to remove debris. Every day brings something new, and you'll take pride in making sure every railcar is ready to go on time.

Safety is our top priority. You'll be trained to follow all safety procedures and work closely with other team members who share your commitment to doing the job right.

What You'll Do:

Inspect, clean, and prep railcars for the next shipment

Remove dirt and debris using blowers and scrapers

Climb ladders and work outdoors in all weather conditions

Follow company and railroad safety standards

Stay active and work as part of a team that supports each other

What You Need:
You don't need rail experience to start your career as a Railcar Prepper - just a strong work ethic, dependability, and the ability to work outdoors. You should be comfortable with physical labor, climbing, bending, and lifting. Experience in construction, warehouse, or industrial work is a plus, but we'll train the right person.
