The firm also offers services in trust administration, probate, and conservatorship proceedings. Our firm is seeking an experienced paralegal to join the practice.

Under the direct supervision of an attorney, this position will primarily:

  • Communicate with clients and client advisors;
  • Assist with the preparation of estate planning documents (trusts, wills, powers of attorney, health care directives and other associated documents);
  • Prepare deeds and transfer of real property documents;
  • Prepare and proof correspondence and other trust estates related legal documents;
  • Assist with court conservatorships including initial filing, status updates, accountings and petitions within the conservatorship;
  • Assist with trust administrations from intake through final distribution;
  • Assist with probate administrations in the preparation of probate filings using Judicial Council forms and form pleadings; and
  • Assist with applications for governmental long-term care financing programs (VA and Medi-Cal).

This position requires at least three (3) years (and preferably 3-5 years) full-time experience as an Elder Law and/or Trust & Estates paralegal. We offer a competitive salary based on experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Have excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills;
  • Outstanding attention to detail, organizational and project management skills;
  • Exceptional computer proficiency with an emphasis in practice management, drafting and document management systems;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), at least intermediate/advanced level;
  • Knowledge of Probate Court processes and court-supervised procedures; and
  • California Notary public or ability to become certified upon hire.
