Bus Attendant

JOIN OUT TEAM AS A BUS ATTENDANT

Performs non-mechanical fleet maintenance tasks on vehicles used in GoPasco. including, but not limited to: cleaning and minor repairs to buildings, grounds, terminals, bus stops, bus stop shelters as directed by the supervisor.

Performs daily cleaning and sanitation of the buses, vans, and cars. This includes interior and exterior of the buses, seats, floors, rims, tires, etc. Drives buses through wash racks and cleans exterior; sweeps and mops bus floors, cleans interiors including walls, seats and windows; sprays for insects as required. Operates automated equipment used in cleaning vehicles. Checks oil and water in buses and service vehicles and adding fluids as needed. Maintains written record of buses parked and cleaned; maintains written record of vehicles to which fluids were added, i.e. water, oil, coolant and washer fluid.

On an occasional basis, perform daily maintenance, cleaning, trash removal, and minor repairs to bus stop locations and facilities as directed utilizing basic hand tools and power tools as well as heavy-duty pressure washers.

Ensures routine daily operational and administrative tasks are performed in accordance with applicable policies and procedures. Tasks include: completing time sheets and other maintenance reports and records as assigned; assisting in the appropriate dissemination of promotional materials; inspecting and monitoring bus stops and Go Pasco facilities for cleanliness and safety.

Maintains vehicles in a clean and safe operating condition, reports malfunctions, refuels as needed, and performs other necessary service work as may be related to this position.

Performs associated duties, including the maintenance of supply inventories and equipment maintenance requirements.

Performs other related duties as required.

• Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
• Knowledge of standard operating procedures, materials, tools, and equipment used in the custodial maintenance of vehicles, buildings and grounds.
• Skill in the use of basic hand tools, power tools, cleaning tools and heavy-duty power washers.
• Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets for cleaning agents and chemicals.
• Ability to identify maintenance needs, complete minor repairs ,and communicate with fellow employees, supervisors, and the public.
• General knowledge of street and road network in Pasco County.
• Ability to understand verbal instructions.
• Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.

PHYSICAL SKILLS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and also push or pull heavy objects. May use a handling device (dolly, cart, etc.) or work with another team member to lift and/or move excessively heavy objects. Ability to stand, bend, squat stoop, and climb stairs and ladders. Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. One (1) year of experience in general grounds and/or facilities custodial work.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Possession of a valid Florida driver's license.
