Join the staff at Mavericks Steak & Cocktails in Watertown SD, located in The Goss Opera House. We are looking to expand our front of house staff. Do you have server, expo, bartender, or host experience? We want you Our restaurant staff is a close knit group who loves to serve our guests some of the most unique dishes the Downtown Watertown Area has to offer. If you are able to thrive in a fast pace environment, work as a team and and have great customer service, we will train you to our standards. All positions are compensated with hourly wages and tips. Availability to work in our banquet operations as a server/bartender a plus, and you will receive automatic gratuity and portions of our tip pool.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with customers, take orders and serve menu items and drinks
  • Assess customers' needs and preferences and make recommendations
  • Greet guests with a warm and inviting presence and make them feel comfortable in our establishment
  • End of shift cleaning duties as assigned; everyone works as a team
  • Restock and replenish inventory and supplies throughout shift
  • Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of menu items and current drink offerings
  • Computer literacy - MICROS
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work as a team to create a positive guest experience

Summary

As a Server/Host/Expo, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests. Your core skills in POS systems, food service, and customer service will be essential in taking orders, managing reservations, and coordinating food delivery. Leveraging premium skills such as time management, upselling, and fine dining experience, you will excel in providing personalized service and enhancing customer satisfaction. With relevant skills in host/hostess experience, food preparation, and guest services, you will contribute to the overall efficiency and success of our establishment. Qualifications

- POS experience

- Food service background

- Strong customer service skills

- Food handling knowledge

- Restaurant experience preferred

- Familiarity with food safety protocols

- Aloha or Micros POS proficiency a plus

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent communication skills

- Computer literacy required

- Host/hostess experience beneficial
