Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere from the start.
• Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Toast POS, ensuring clarity and attention to detail.
• Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining presentation standards and proper food handling procedures.
• Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities.
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations about menu items, including wine pairings or specialty dishes, to enrich the dining experience.
• Manage guest inquiries and resolve any issues efficiently to ensure complete satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and adhering to food safety protocols.
• Process payments accurately through cash handling or cashiering systems, including OpenTable reservations management when applicable.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and communicate special requests effectively.
• Assist with food preparation or kitchen support as needed during busy periods or special events such as nightclub nights or private parties.
• Uphold sanitation standards related to food safety, sanitation, and overall restaurant hygiene practices.
• Support team members by performing host/host duties or bussing tables during peak hours to ensure smooth restaurant flow.

Skills

• Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining settings.
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast POS.
• Strong knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and safety regulations within the food industry.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
• Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining guest satisfaction.
• Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy shifts.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and order calculations with accuracy.
• Knowledge of culinary terminology and food preparation processes enhances service quality.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and special event nights such as private functions.
• Previous host/host experience or serving background is highly desirable for seamless guest relations management. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
