We are seeking a
Senior Residential Construction Project Manager
to lead our project delivery team, strengthen our operational foundation, elevate customer satisfaction, and ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to Contemporary Tiny Homes' high standards.

Role Overview

The
Senior Residential Construction Project Manager
is a leadership role responsible for overseeing our project portfolio, mentoring and managing 2–3 Residential PMs, and serving as a high-level escalation point for clients and internal teams.

You will play a central role in shaping the next phase of our project delivery operations as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership & Team Development

  • Manage, mentor, and coach a team of 2–3 Residential Project Managers.
  • Conduct weekly PM team check-ins, schedule reviews, and performance updates.
  • Train PMs on communication standards, scheduling discipline, cost control, and technology tools.
  • Ensure PMs follow company SOPs, templates, workflows, and customer engagement practices.
  • Provide ongoing support, guidance, and accountability to improve PM performance.

2. Portfolio Oversight & Performance Management

  • Oversee the full portfolio of 8–12 active construction projects.
  • Monitor project health across:
  • schedule

  • inspections
  • quality
  • customer satisfaction
  • Identify risks early and intervene before issues escalate.
  • Drive consistent on-time delivery and cost control across the portfolio.
  • Report weekly to leadership on project KPIs, risks, staffing needs, and resource allocation.

3. Escalation Point for Customers & Internal Teams

  • Serve as the senior contact for client escalations and complex challenges.
  • Support PMs in resolving sensitive issues around timelines, quality, expectations, and budget concerns.
  • Maintain composure, clarity, and proactive solutions when issues arise.
  • Ensure a strong customer experience even in difficult circumstances.

4. High-Level Project Management (Selective Complex Projects)

  • Manage a small number of high-impact or complex ADU builds directly.
  • Create and maintain detailed project schedules (Gantt, critical path, lookahead plans).
  • Ensure timely inspections, subcontractor coordination, material delivery, and quality assurance.
  • Maintain accurate budgets and value-engineering strategies.

5. Process Improvement & Standardization

  • Refine and expand our internal SOPs, templates, workflows, and best practices for repeatability and scalability.
  • Develop and optimize processes within ClickUp/Asana, CRMs, and internal communication systems.
  • Implement improvements that reduce cycle times, improve client experience, and increase gross margins.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and drive solutions that strengthen cross-team alignment (Sales → Design → PM → Field).

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Construction Operations Lead, Director of Construction, Design Lead, and Field Team.
  • Ensure clean and consistent handoffs between departments.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and support vendor negotiations.
  • Participate in backlog planning, scheduling, forecasting, and hiring decisions as the company grows.

Qualifications & Skills

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 6–10+ years of residential construction project management experience (ADUs, modular, accessory units, remodels, additions, or new builds).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience: mentoring PMs, leading teams, or managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong command of construction sequencing, subcontractor coordination, and municipal permitting processes.
  • Expert-level scheduling skills: Gantt charts, critical path, dependency mapping.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, value-engineer projects, and maintain strict cost control.
  • Highly proficient with PM tools (ClickUp, Asana, , Buildertrend, etc.) and CRM systems.
  • Exceptional written & verbal communication.
  • Strong customer-focused mindset; proven experience navigating escalations with calm, clarity, and professionalism.
  • Ability to manage 8–12 concurrent projects through a team-based model.
  • Deep appreciation for technology, structure, organization, repeatability, and operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in
    Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management
    , or similar.
  • Experience in consulting, high-volume home services, or franchise operations (e.g., Renewal by Andersen, LeafFilter, large remodeling companies).
  • Experience working in a fast-growing or process-heavy environment.
  • Familiarity with Connecticut construction codes & permitting processes.
  • Background in workflow automation or configuring PM platforms.
