COMPANY BACKGROUND
The Houston Dynamo Football Club (HDFC) is a multi-faceted organization dedicated to inspiring and supporting soccer participation and growth in Houston, TX and beyond. The Club's brands include men's and women's professional teams - the Houston Dynamo (MLS) and Houston Dash (NWSL), a development academy, Houston Dynamo Dash Charities, as well as Shell Energy Stadium and Houston Sports Park.
The Club has a rich history, including MLS Cup titles (2006, 2007) and in-season tournament championships for both the Dynamo (2018 and 2023) and Dash and is focused on building toward the next championships, inspiring and uniting the city of Houston through the sport of soccer and community outreach, and creating the most inclusive sporting experience and diverse fan base in the city and state.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Houston Dynamo FC is seeking an experienced and highly motivated creator to join our team as a Vertical Video Digital Content Producer with the Social Media team. This person will seek to conceptualize, create, and distribute compelling vertical video content to drive engagement and conversation across TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. This producer will be involved in strategic & creative planning, video production, community management and metric-based goals. This person will spearhead our mobile-first content initiatives and be a cross-brand resource.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Ideate and produce vertical video content (primarily vertical) TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
Lead vertical video production from ideation through post-launch, providing viewers with able and engaging experiences.
Brainstorm regularly with members of the Social Media, Marketing, and other Content team members.
Coordinate and communicate frequently with the Social Media team on timing and publishing of projects.
Review data and performance around Vertical Video content weekly, spearheading strategy adjustments as needed.
Work with the team to optimize feature content for Vertical Video platforms.
Ownership and organization in consistently ingesting raw footage and finished projects.
Cultivate a positive team dynamic and work collaboratively with all levels.
Maintain a robust understanding of the production and post-production processes when partnering with the Creative and Content teams.
Keep current with MLS programming, storylines, talent, brands, and products.
Accept and implement feedback from team leaders on creative, production and editing.
Travel to events and content shoots to create on-site content, when necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
2-3 years of related experience in social video production including editing experience with Adobe Premiere, Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Social Media, Video Production or related experience or field of study.
Significant experience using video production features within social video apps such as TikTok and Reels.
Deep understanding of TikTok/Reels style editing and curation.
Strong social media proficiency – always online across TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and Snapchat.
Knowledgeable about MLS players and teams; experience in professional sports is helpful.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Bilingual English/Spanish – preferred
