ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:
As a Buyer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and efficient procurement of materials and services required for manufacturing and assembly operations. You will manage supplier relationships, oversee the full purchase order lifecycle, and collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to drive performance and ensure on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage direct and indirect material procurement processes, including planning, purchase order placement, and expediting.
- Maintain up-to-date delivery schedules and purchase order documentation.
- Support indirect procurement activities such as tooling, engineering services, and component repairs.
- Schedule components to support fulfillment and inventory requirements—particularly for hardware with extended lead times.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and manage supplier performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of sourcing and procurement activities.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations and company policies.
BACKGROUND PROFILE:
- Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of professional experience in procurement.
- Minimum 2+ years of procurement experience in aerospace, turbine, or engine manufacturing.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (QAD experience a plus).
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- U.S. citizenship required due to defense contracting regulations.
- Ability to travel internationally up to 10% (Europe).
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a manufacturing environment where protective gear may be required.
