Position Details

The Department of Communication within the College of Arts and Letters at University of Tampa invites applications for a one-semester appointment as a Visiting Assistant Professor in Communication and Media Studies beginning in January 2026.

The University of Tampa is a medium-sized, comprehensive, residentially-based private institution of more than 11,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Teaching load is 12 semester hours (3 four-credit classes) in a 15-week semester. Teaching assignments will include 2 sections of World Cinema and a section of Film Directors. Candidate should have a MA or terminal degree such as a Ph.D. in communication, media studies, film studies, or a related field. The ideal candidate will bring both practical experience and critical perspectives to the classroom and have experience teaching film studies.
