A Cook Prep plays a vital role in the kitchen by supporting chefs and line cooks in preparing ingredients and maintaining a clean, organized workspace. This position requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a strong sense of teamwork to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely meal service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and portion ingredients (such as chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, and preparing sauces or dressings).
  • Assist with basic cooking tasks under the supervision of the chef or line cook.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all food preparation areas.
  • Properly label, store, and rotate ingredients to ensure freshness and reduce waste.
  • Set up and stock workstations before service begins.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and surfaces throughout the shift.
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a hot, busy kitchen environment.
