Job Purpose: To develop and complete estimates for bid opportunities. Provide support to junior estimating staff members.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Estimator III Position Highlights:
  1. Work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment where the emphasis is placed on teamwork and satisfying our client's needs.
  2. Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracts for construction projects based on preliminary information, contract requirements, quotations, drawings, and specifications.
  3. Review and evaluate project documents to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project.
  4. Generate Request for Information clarification requests to identify project unknowns, risks, and conflicts.
  5. Accurately measure areas and volumes to generate estimate quantities utilizing Bluebeam software.
  6. Clearly articulate the methodology and reasoning underlying the pricing and quoting to Business Development Managers, Regional Managers, clients, and vendors.
  7. Prepare and solicit quote requests for project estimates.
  8. Liaise, consult, and communicate with Regional Managers, Project Managers, Subject Matter Experts, engineers, risk, procurement, and subcontractors to develop comprehensive scopes of work, estimates, budgets, and bid packages for project opportunities.
  9. Follow the opportunity process document.
  10. Organize, communicate, and hand-off successful project estimates to the operations team.
  11. Evaluate and implement technological improvements to increase department productivity.

  1. Essential Requirements:
  1. 5 or more years estimating/project related experience in construction, heavy civil projects, or similar.
  2. Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills and Bluebeam software.
  3. Generate budgets, estimates and proposals with the understanding of the constructability, means and methods, logistics, schedule, risk, and profitability of each project.
  4. Must have a strong attention to detail, communicate well, be self-motivated and well organized.
  5. Valid Driver's License and insurance
  1. Preferred Qualifications:
  1. 30 Hour OSHA Certification
  2. EXCEL certification
  3. AMPP Certification
  1. Working Conditions:
  1. This job operates in a professional office environment.
  2. Extended work hours are required to meet deadlines.
