Overview

Olive Crest is seeking a compassionate and motivated Youth Mentor (Peer Specialist) to support at-risk youth at our Drop-In Center for Commercially Exploited Children (CSEC). This role focuses on creating a safe, welcoming environment, building positive relationships, and connecting youth to essential resources and opportunities for growth.

The schedule for this position is Tuesday-Saturday 12PM-8PM.

Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming and engaging environment that supports youth participation.
  • Greet and build rapport with youth, connecting them to appropriate resources.
  • Maintain accurate sign-in records and usage statistics for the Drop-In Center.
  • Plan, schedule, and implement daily, weekly, and monthly activities.
  • Conduct outreach in schools and community events to raise awareness and encourage participation.
  • Develop one-on-one relationships with clients while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Serve as a positive role model and advocate for clients within their communities.
  • Provide services in the center and in community settings as needed.
  • Accurately document all services and contacts in accordance with agency guidelines.
  • Adhere to the Olive Crest mission, Code of Conduct, and program standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field or relevant lived experience.
  • Ability to work with at-risk youth in a supportive and professional manner.
  • Clearance of criminal record and eligibility to work under state/federal mental health programs.
  • Valid CA Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (current).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word; trainable in Electronic Health Records.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending or kneeling.
  • Commitment to Olive Crest's mission and philosophy.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Time Off Benefits include:

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
