The Staff Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for supervising and participating in the application of a variety of speech and cognitive therapeutic techniques for the rehabilitation of patients. Work is full time during weekdays. Work is performed at the clinic with some work occasionally at the residential site or in the community. Work is PRN during weekdays, Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30p.m.

Job Tasks:

  • Examines and evaluates patients, identifies communication/cognitive problems, including the type of problems such as cognition, dysarthria, apraxia, language, dysfluency, dysphagia, etc., the causal and/or maintaining factors, and the severity of the problems.
  • Develops, updates, and implements individualized patient treatment plans including long and short- term goals.   Treatment activities may include, but are not limited to, the Cognition Module, Attention Module, Auditory Rehabilitation Module, Echoic Store, Iconic Store, orientation, passive breathing, thermal stimulation, etc.
  • Performs reporting procedures. 
  • Consults with patients, families and therapists from various clinic disciplines to instruct, advise or inform them of procedures and tests.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders required. 
  • Current or eligible for Certificate of Clinical Competence by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association required.  
  • Current licensure or eligible to practice professional Speech Pathology in the state where practicing required.
