Principal SDET (Heavy Java Coding)
Location: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid)
Duration: Long Term
We're looking for a hands-on Principal SDET / Automation Engineer with strong Java development skills and deep experience building automation frameworks from scratch**.
This role is 80% QA-focused and ideal for engineers who write and test their own code while ensuring quality in complex systems.
Key Skills
Core Java coding (must be strong – coding round required)
UI Automation: Selenium or similar
API Automation: Rest Assured
Cloud: AWS (Lambda, EC2, S3, etc.)
CI/CD: Jenkins, Artifactory, Helm, Docker, Kubernetes
Test Management: Jira Xray or similar
What You'll Do
Build and maintain API & UI automation frameworks
Design and execute test plans for new features
Implement automation in CI/CD pipelines
Collaborate with Agile teams to deliver high-quality releases
Troubleshoot, analyze, and improve automation scripts
Provide technical guidance on test automation best practices
Experience
10+ years in Quality Engineering (Automation-heavy roles)
4+ years working in **Agile environments
Strong exposure to **cloud-based testing (AWS)
Hands-on with **Selenium, Rest Assured, Jenkins, Postman, Cucumber
Knowledge of **TDD, CI/CD pipelines, and QA best practices
Preferred
Experience with Docker / Kubernetes / Virtualization (VMware)
Strong problem-solving and leadership skills
Ability to mentor teams and drive a culture of quality
