Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Lidar Verification and Validation (V&V) Manager to lead the testing and quality assurance efforts for our cutting-edge Lidar sensor products. This role requires a blend of strong technical skills, particularly in Point cloud data analysis, Python programming and test software architecture, coupled with proven management abilities to guide a team in ensuring the reliability, performance, and compliance of our sensors.

What you'll be doing:
    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of V&V engineers in the design and development of complex V&V hardware and software test solutions, systems, and fixtures required for comprehensive Lidar sensor testing.
  • Define, develop, and implement the overall Verification and Validation strategy for Lidar sensor hardware and embedded software.
  • Design and maintain robust test software architecture and frameworks, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and efficiency.
  • Drive the creation, execution, and review of comprehensive test plans, protocols, and test cases (functional, performance, reliability, safety, etc.).
  • Leverage strong Python skills for scripting, test automation, data acquisition, and post-processing.
  • Lead efforts in handling and analyzing large datasets generated from V&V activities to identify anomalies, characterize sensor performance, and pinpoint root causes of failures.
  • Establish and maintain clear metrics for tracking V&V progress and product quality.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely report generation of V&V results, including detailed test summaries, failure analysis, and compliance documentation for both internal and external stakeholders
What you'll have:

  • Minimum of 2 years of previous management experience leading technical teams.
  • Proven experience working with complex electromechanical or optical systems (experience with Lidar or similar sensor technology is a strong plus).
  • Strong proficiency in Python for test automation, data analysis, and tool development.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and managing robust test software architecture.
  • In-depth knowledge of statistical methods for analyzing large datasets and characterizing system performance.
  • Familiarity with various data analysis tools (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, MATLAB) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce high-quality report generation.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to failure analysis.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
Nice to Have
    • Deep system-level understanding of Lidar systems, including optics, mechanics, signal processing, and embedded software.
  • Knowledge of Lidar perception algorithms (e.g., object detection, tracking, segmentation) and common performance metrics.
  • Experience with perception systems using other sensor modalities such as camera, radar, or ultrasonic sensors.
  • Familiarity with industry standards for automotive safety (e.g., ISO or other safety-critical domains
What's in it for you:
    • Be part of an early start-up that's backed by industry-leading venture capitalists
